Established in 1901, Airlie Gardens is a vibrant cultural and ecological attraction of the North Carolina Coast. Celebrating over a century of gardens by the ocean, Airlie's 67-acres of breathtaking landscape formal gardens, historic structures, walking trails, sculptures, wildlife, and freshwater lakes will amaze. Enjoy the grandeur of the 462-year-old Airlie Oak and views of Bradley Creek. The Gardens are famous for its collection of over 100,000 azaleas and countless camellias, which bloom throughout the winter and early spring.
See magnificent displays around the gardens, including Airlie Oak, Tranquility Garden, Spring Garden and Pergola Garden, that bloom with color year-round as the displays are changed seasonally. Stroll through the Minnie Evans Sculpture Garden, with 4000 colorful glass bottles, metal sculptures, and mosaics, or Bradley Creek Pier, a beautiful spot to relax with views of Wrightsville Beach. .

Arlie Gardens Dining

While Arlie Gardens does not offer any restaurants or food service, there are over 15 wonderful restaurants within one mile. Visit the Garden Services Center to see a collection of menus from area restaurants. They are happy to call ahead and make reservations!

Is it pet friendly?

No. Due to the fragile nature of the gardens and ecosystems, Airlie does not allow pets. They do not want to disrupt the preserved wildlife, water, manicured horticulture and historic sites that make Arlie Gardens an important nature and conservation attraction!

Yes. Airlie hosts many special events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties in its peaceful gardens and charming venues.

Is it handicapped accessible?


Airlie Gardens is a walking experience and is compliant with the American Disability Act (ADA). At Airlie you will experience mixed paths of mulch, gravel, grass, earth, and paved materials. Arlie Gardens also offers the Arlie Accessibility Tram from 3/1/2011 - 6/30/2012, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
